London Borough of culture

Libby is delighted to announce that as part of the Waltham Forest London Borough of Culture, she will be running a new project alongside FIGHTER.

Waltham Forest is the first ever London Borough of Culture and as part of the year long programme of activity, 12 projects were chosen to lead on the Make It Happen Fellowship Funding Strand. Libby’s project is one of the 12!

Read more about the project below:

Libby is running unique, exciting theatre workshops that celebrate the achievements of the radical British female boxers that fought for their right to fight. Workshops will complement the show FIGHTER, which premieres at Stratford Circus Arts Centre in April. Workshops feature opportunities to explore theatre and script writing techniques and will also feature a boxing class with a female boxer - no boxing experience or equipment required. Workshop participants will receive a souvenir photograph of themselves in fight gear and ready to rumble!

There are two public workshops open to all Waltham Forest residents:

Saturday 23rd March 12pm-4pm at the Epicentre, 41 West Street, Leytonstone

Book through EventBrite: here

Saturday 30th March 12pm-4pm at the Priory Court Community Centre, 11 Priory Court, Walthamstow.

Book through EventBrite: here

Public workshops are FREE, accessible and inclusive - all are welcome! If you have childcare or support needs, we can help with that. Participants will write their own short scripts and will receive plenty of practical ideas to continue the development of their pieces.

Four fully funded schools workshops are available for schools, colleges and alternative provision in the borough. If you are an educational establishment that would like to know more, please request the Workshop brochure by emailing:

All workshops run in March 2019, to celebrate International Women’s Day.
